Ghosts on Glass

The fishing town of Wick, once famous as the herring capital of Europe, is recorded in one of the most intriguing archives of Scottish photography.  Three generations of the Johnston family took photographs in and around the town from the 1860s to the 1970s.  Journalist and writer George Rosie meets Alex Johnston,   grandson of the first Johnston,   and visits the Wick Heritage Centre where the 45,000 glass negatives of this fascinating collection are preserved.
